What is an e-ticket?

An e-Ticket (electronic ticket) is a paperless electronic document with a unique confirmation number given to passengers in place of a paper ticket. Passengers are required to produce the unique confirmation number at the airport airline counter when checking in for the flight.

It is not mandatory to show your e-ticket confirmation email. In case you are not carrying the e-ticket confirmation email, you will need to show a photographic proof of identity (passport, driver’s license etc.) at the airport check-in counter of the airline. However, it is advisable that you carry your e-ticket confirmation email and your e-ticket number.

However, please note that it is mandatory to produce your boarding pass at the airport when flying with Ryanair.

Security rules at the airport

Before boarding your flight, your cabin baggage will be checked by Airport Security staff using x-ray machinery.

New European Union cabin baggage security restrictions were implemented on all flights to and from EU/EEA airports. Passenger cabin baggage containing any liquids, gels, pastes, lotions or liquid cosmetics MUST be presented at the airport passenger security point in a transparent re-sealable bag of no more than one litre capacity (e.g. 20cm x 20cm ziplock freezer bag). Only gels, pastes, lotions and liquid cosmetics in containers of 100mls or less will be permitted through the passenger security screening points at all EU/EEA Airports, please note there is a limit of one transparent resealable plastic bag per person.

Airport check in and luggage

Check-in

The beginning of check-in depends on airline requirements and the number of passengers for the flight. Some airlines have introduced a charge for checking in at the airport and/or online. When booking a ticket, please find out more about the airline’s checking-in rules. The official beginning of check-in generally is 2 hours before departure or in some cases from 1,5 to 1 hour before departure.

Check-in ends 30 — 40 minutes before departure.

Boarding starts 30 to 20 minutes before departure or even 40 minutes before departure for major flights.

Check-in at a Check-in Desk

At certain airports, you will find a separate desk for certain airlines flights, so-called dedicated check-in. At most airports, however, several flights are handled at the same time at each desk (so-called common check-in). In that case, look for the number of the check-in desk specified in the airport information system and the class in which you are travelling.

Internet check-in

Most airlines offer internet check-in when you can choose your seat and print up your boarding pass. To ensure a convenient and quick passage through the airport without a wait in the check-in queue, you will only need a standard Internet connection and office printer. Generally you can check in 24 hours before your flight at the earliest, and 35 minutes before the flight at the latest. You can not check in if you have a group reservation for 10 or more people. You can check in not only if you are just travelling with hand baggage, but also with baggage that requires being checked in to the aircraft hold.

If you are only travelling with hand baggage, proceed directly to the departures concourse, to the departure gate, by the specified boarding time. If you are travelling with checked baggage, take it to a DROP OFF desk at least 35 minutes before departure.

Ryanair check-in

Passengers can check-in online from 4 days up to 4 hours before each scheduled flight departure time. Online check-in closes 4 hours prior to flight departure. Once a passenger has checked in online (up to 4 hours prior to the scheduled flight time) the boarding pass can be reprinted up to 4 hours before scheduled flight departure time.

Passengers who do not bring their printed boarding passes to the airport will be required to pay a Boarding Pass Reissue Fee in order to receive a new boarding pass. This facility is available up to 40 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure.

Baggage

Most of regular airlines guarantee you minimum of 20-23kg checked-in baggage + 8kg cabin baggage for free. However some airlines-discounters require additional payment for the checked-in baggage. Detailed information during booking process, in your booking confirmation or boarding pass.

Can I change my booking and get a refund for my tickets if I no longer want to use them?

A ticket may have different restrictions depending on the airline and the type of ticket (class). Usually for economic fares, only airport taxes are being refunded. However, in order to confirm the exact sum that will be refunded in any case of cancellation or modification, we will need to contact the airline. You may review the terms of the airline regarding the ticket cancellation or modification fees and restrictions, using the respective link on the page where you introduce your credit card details or in the ticket confirmation e-mail.

Can the name of passenger be changed on the ticket?

The tickets are not transferable and for this reason no change of name can be done. The name should be introduced on the reservation form exactly as it is written on the passport or the identity card. After the completion of the reservation form, no change or correction can be accepted on the name of the passenger.

What should I do if I don’t receive an e-mail after the completion of the reservation process?

In case you don’t receive any mail within an hour from the completion of the reservation process please contact us at [email protected].
